The Commercial Technical State Institute
"Gian Rinaldo Carli"

The Commercial Technical State Institute "Gian Rinaldo Carli" is one of the oldest schools in Trieste, an Italian port situated in the north-eastern part of the Adriatic Sea.

It was founded in 1817 when Trieste was the most important port of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Nowadays the school provides specialisation in different branches:

  • courses aiming at the formation of accountant~programmers, where students learn how to program a computer and use it for enterprise accounting needs (experimental accountant programmers courses "Mercurio").
  • business administration experimental courses based on the "Progetto Brocca" (the "Brocca Project"), putting more emphasis on the students' cultural development than on accountancy specialisation.
  • "Igea" courses, which have renewed the curricula of the traditional accountancy courses.
  • courses focusing on the in-depth knowledge of two foreign languages forming, for example, foreign languages correspondents (business-lingustic branch of the Brocca experimentation).
  • accountancy evening courses specifically designed to deal with working students' requirements and based on the experimental project "Sirio".

The school is equipped with two language laboratories and five computer laboratories.
